Hello -
I’m Malik, a designer and photographer based in Silver Spring, MD.  My work engages culture, community, and limitlessness with bold graphics and an animated vocabulary. My design process starts with research and writing, followed by iterative typographic and image-making explorations that  synthesize my findings. In contrast, my photography practice is intuitive and natural, balancing methodologies to tell stories, save the moment, and create form.

Post & Perimeter


Post and Perimeter is a fictional art gallery at San Francisco’s Mission Bay Park basketball court. The gallery is a monthly exhibition of lenticular works by local artists and designers on the relationship between speed and size. All of the printed work is produced using a risograph.
The identity system I designed uses repetition, scale, and simple shapes to visualize the motion of lenticular prints in two-dimensional space. The gallery brochures use pages of two different scales to create a dynamic typographic experience. When the smaller top page is flipped, an additional spread is revealed.
